Burghclere Parish Council
On behalf of the residents of the parish of Burghclere, I would like to express our tremendous sadness at the death of Her Majesty the Queen and join with the nation in mourning her loss. We extend our deepest sympathy to His Majesty The King and to the members of the Royal Family.
As a community we give thanks for Her Majesty’s long and dedicated service, her commitment to many charitable causes and her unswerving devotion and loyalty to the nation.
We recall with gratitude the visit of Her Majesty to Burghclere in 1996 to open the Clere School Sports Centre, where she met the teaching staff, many children and their families, among whom she won much respect and affection.
The parish has opened a book of condolence that will be available for residents in the Church of the Ascension, Burghclere.
