Play Area
Burghclere play area is sited between the Sports Club and the Portal Hall. Free access is from the Village car park by the Sports Club; from Church Lane via the allotments; from Harts Lane via a small gate leading to the Portal Hall Clubroom, or from the Portal Hall car park if Pre-School is not in operation. The play area is maintained by the parish council in conjunction with B&DBC, who inspect it weekly.
During 2022, the parish council have engaged with Sovereign Play to add more equipment for the younger cohort (2-6 year old) and adult exercise equipment, which is proving very popular. Local contractors have added and replaced fencing with more planned for 2023.
